House Guise

House Guise is the second most powerful House in France, after the royal House Valois. It rules over vast regions of Lorraine and Burgundy: lands it was given for the First Duke of Guise’s contributions in the defeat of the Burgundian Kings. Trade through the north sea has made House Guise rich, and its people are known for their efficiency. As a cadet branch of house Habesburg, the most powerful house in Europe, Guise can call on the support of the Pope and many Catholic lords. Their army is enormous, and Guise can personally call up 4,000 Gendarmes.
